A visit to Spokane

I took Hailey up to Spokane today for her recheck with Dr.Ling (The Neurosurgeon) She had a CAT Scan and then we met with the doctor. We received great news! In the 3 weeks since her accident the blood clot has almost completely reabsorbed and her brain has already started moving over to fill in that space. She still has the skull fracture but he said that will take several months to heal. She also passed all of the neurological tests he preformed on her. He thinks she looks great and will be able to make a full recovery. We were very excited to hear things are healing so quickly and Hailey was excited to get the thumbs up on going back to PE and recess! I asked if Hailey needed any restrictions at recess or limited on what she could do and he said no. He said, now that the blood clot was gone it would take a pretty severe blow to the head to cause any damage. (One similar to her accident.) So we definitely plan on keeping our seat belts securely fastened and keeping all arms and legs in the moving vehicle at all times:)
While in Spokane I was able to stop by and visit with my girlfriend Carmen, from Highschool. Carmen, her husband Roland, and 18 month old daughter Sofia live in Hawaii, so I don't get to see them very often, but it turned out that she was visiting her parents and sister, who just had a baby, right here in the Spokane area. It worked out great to swing by and visit for a while and it was awesome to see her and her beautiful family.

On our way home we stopped in Ritzville to say hi to my sister and her family. Hailey loved having some time to play with her 4 cousins. We ended up going to dinner with them and then hit the road and continued on home.

So glad to hear everything is going good and she is recovering well. YEA! Carmen looks kinda the same, huh? I guess we all do thought. I always expect people to look different after 10 years...
