DARE graduation

Ky graduated from D.A.R.E. today.
He really liked going through this class. In fact, he was the runner up on the essay they had to write telling about what they learned. Which meant that if the winner of the essay couldn't show up this day, he would have been able to read his essay in front of the entire group of parents and receive the medal they hand out for it. He was pretty proud of that. And we were proud of him too.

Taco Sunday with a twist

Most Sundays we go to dinner at my parent's for their long standing weekly tradition of eating their ever famous tacos on "Taco Sunday". Since marrying into the family 13 years ago Dan has been deemed the tomato chopper. NO ONE is allowed to do this job except for Dan. They really like his cube-age on those veggies :) Way to go Dan, you're a pro.

Today Dan had to meet us at my parents because he was coming straight from a church meeting which meant he showed up in a suit. When he walked in, his tomato job was waiting for him. Normally we all just show up in sweats so tonight Dan had to ask my mom for an apron so he could get to his juicy tomato job. She told him she had some hanging up in her closet back in her room, so off he went. I think he got distracted by something else hanging up in her closet because this is what he came back wearing. Now that's one fancy apron.

Thanksgivings get together in Ritzville

We went up to Ritzville to spend a little time with the Rose side of the family today. The cousins played, we had dinner, played games, and the girls made a craft but most of the day was spent outside in the snow sledding and riding on the 4 wheeler. Everyone had a ton of fun and here are the pictures to prove it.
Ky snowboarding.
Hailey trying out the jump Dan made.
Drew, Hailey and Kase taking a little spin around the field.
Kase getting some air.
Drew getting some major air.
Gary, Bryce and Ky taking aunt Megan for a ride.
Hudson plowing right through the snow.
Bryce concentrating :)
Alaina going down on her bottom after a bad whip lash, belly flop experience. Ouch.
Kayleb. Surfing USA!
The kids begging for one last ride...PLEASE!
It was snowing the whole time we were outside and I was taking pictures with my nice camera. To protect it from the weather I put it in one of those bank robber type ski masks with the lens barely peeking through one of the eye holes. Problem was the view find and screen were covered so I spent most of the day just aiming and shooting blindly. My sister Megan thought it was funny and took this picture of me...
right after I got this one of her. Not too shabby for not looking, eh?
Thanks for hosting us Leslie and Gary!

Thanksgiving at the Ostler's

We had a great Thanksgiving with the Ostler's today. The day was spent...
Watching football...
Playing football...
Goofing around...
Mastering video games...
Laying around in turkey comas...
Playing board games...
With Great Grandpa...
And hanging out with cousins.
In the afternoon we ventured out with the whole family and saw the movie Tangled.
Then it was back to the Ostler's for more games, leftovers, and dessert.
Happy Thanksgiving!

1st Snow of the year

First snow of the year and it's not even Thanksgiving! All of the kids are so excited they just had to run outside to play in it for a minute. The older kids are all hoping it snows enough for school to be cancelled tomorrow, Kase is planning the sledding trip we need to take first thing in the morning, and Hudson just knows that Santa is coming tonight. :)
